🟣 Purple___ stoneLIME, BRIM, MILE, CORNER

The purple trap: RUBY and PEARL could be names, ROSE could be a color — but the names group is flowers-as-names (IRIS, ROSE, DAISY, VIOLET) and purple is words that precede STONE.

How the July 27, 2026 board comes apart

The opening move is Shades of red (🟡 yellow). Read CRIMSON, SCARLET, RUBY and CHERRY side by side and the category “Shades of red” announces itself. Lock it in before touching anything ambiguous — a solved yellow row shrinks the search space for the three harder groups.

Next comes Precious stones (🟢 green). The connection between PEARL, OPAL, JADE and AMBER is still concrete, but you have to name it yourself rather than just spot it. Before committing, confirm all four genuinely fit “Precious stones” — not only the two that jumped out first.

Blue hides Girls' names (🔵). None of IRIS, ROSE, DAISY or VIOLET looks special alone; the giveaway is the pattern they form together. Say the candidate label “Girls' names” out loud and check each word against it before you submit.

That leaves ___ stone (🟣 purple): LIME, BRIM, MILE and CORNER. As usual the final group leans on wordplay or a hidden pattern, so it is safest solved by elimination — clear the other twelve tiles and take what remains.

Why the purple group misleads: RUBY and PEARL could be names, ROSE could be a color — but the names group is flowers-as-names (IRIS, ROSE, DAISY, VIOLET) and purple is words that precede STONE. Whenever a word seems to fit two groups, park it and finish the group that has four unambiguous members — the leftover placement resolves itself.
